At CPFL since 2009, he has worked as an electric system expansion planner, electric power system protection, asset base management and since 2016 as an Innovation project manager focused on the development of operational excellence and Artificial Intelligence tools, energy storage systems, renewable sources and electric mobility. Rafael Cunha is an Electrical Engineer from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and writes the 'Electric Vehicles' column for FotoVolt magazine. He has several years' experience in projects for industrial installations, as well as in projects to implement an electrical work safety regulatory standard (NR-10) and is also a member of the study commission currently developing the NBR 17019 standard. Rafael is a co-founder of and the director of operations at movE Eletromobilidade, which provides technological solutions for managing the charging controls of electric vehicles.

Before joining SEIA, Abby served as Director of the Department of Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the Director of the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA), Energy Advisor to Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, and Deputy General Counsel with the Maryland Public Service Commission. Before embarking on a career in public service, Abby spent nine years in private practice. He is a Professor at the Institute of Energy and Environment of the University of São Paulo, with experience in Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energies. He is an Associate Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Solar Energy (RBENS) in the area of Economics and Public Policy, a collaborator of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) and a member of the Board of the Brazilian Solar Energy Association (ABENS).
